Fake Minecraft is a server that was only spun up as a proof of concept to show that it doesn’t take deep dark coding skills to do a lot of this stuff. If there was actually a community here, we would encourage participation of trusted users and admins to be able to assist with server operations.

VANILLA WITH SPRINKLES

We are running the server in a manner where you can connect without requiring any sort of mods. The system itself was spun up on 1.21 shortly after Spigot was released in a mostly feature complete state, and has since been updated to Purpur. Additional plugins/etc. all updated w/in the last week (beginning of August) to allow for certain “staff” type functionality.

MAP PREGENERATION

The current map was identified in part of an afternoon but utilizing tools such as https://map.jacobsjo.eu/ because some additional aesthetic datapacks were also utilized for some extra structures (nothing major biome changing or lag inducing.)

After pregenerating said map on a personal machine with Chunky, it was uploaded to the server in about 5 minutes.

TEST ENVIRONMENT

Utilizing some of the staff’s knowledge and access to free virtualization technologies, all the prototyping was able to be handled off of what would ultimately be the “production” server. This is less obviously less important than with an existing community, but the point remains that there are multiple methods to prototype and test minor and major changes without disrupting existing environments*.
